Ragdoll

About

Ragdolls are famously floppy โ€” they go limp in your arms when picked up, earning their name. Large, blue-eyed, and extraordinarily gentle, they are often called puppy cats for their loyalty and easygoing nature.

History

Ragdolls are a fairly modern breed, developed in the 1960s in California by breeder Ann Baker. The foundation cat was a white domestic longhair named Josephine, known for her calm temperament. Ragdolls were officially recognized by TICA in 1979.
