Bengal

About

Bengals look like miniature leopards and act like it too โ€” athletic, curious, and endlessly energetic. They are one of the most unique and visually stunning domestic breeds.

History

Bengals are a relatively modern breed, created in the 1960s and 70s by breeding domestic cats with Asian Leopard Cats. Geneticist Jean Mill developed the Bengal breed to create a wild-looking cat with a gentle domestic temperament. They were officially recognized by TICA in 1983.
