Dutch rabbits are one of the oldest pedigree rabbit breeds and are instantly recognizable by their distinctive two-tone color pattern โ€” a white blaze and saddle paired with a colored rear. They are dependable, friendly, and great for beginners.

History

Despite the name, Dutch rabbits were actually developed in England in the early 1800s from the now-extinct Brabant breed imported from Holland. They were one of the first breeds standardized and shown in England, and were among the first rabbits imported to the US for exhibition.

Gentle, social, and calm. One of the most consistently easy-going rabbit breeds.

Very low-maintenance coat. Moderate size (4โ€“5.5 lbs) makes them easy to handle. Very social โ€” benefits greatly from a bonded rabbit companion.
